Born in Indonesia, Julia Hadi Wagener’s Japanese and Chinese heritage is ever-present in her unique jewelry collection marketed under her “Julia Hadi” private label. Julia Hadi Wagener is also the designer behind the famed “Alexandra Lee” line of handcrafted fine jewelry in Indonesia, which she has operated since July 2000. Her burning passion for jewelry design began at an early age, and blossomed when she entered the profession as a jewelry trader after earning a degree in finance and accounting. Upon the completion of specialized courses in jewelry design in Jakarta and Hong Kong, Julia Hadi began her career as a professional designer. She created several lines of jewelry under her own private labels by 2003, and her handcrafted artworks had made their way through jewelry shows and exhibitions and are admired and worn by the elite society of Indonesia. With her success, the business was expanded to Chicago in 2010, opened her first US store in June 2012, and plans to open small, boutique stores in select US cities in the next few years.
